“I’ve spent my entire legal career focused on one thing: making the justice system work the way it should — fairly, honestly, and with common sense.
I’m a native Houstonian, a proud graduate of Spelman College and Howard University School of Law, and today I serve as the Judge of the 184th Criminal District Court. Before taking the bench, I worked for six years as a prosecutor in Harris County. I saw firsthand how the system can fail people, especially those without access or resources.
I ran for judge because I knew change had to come from the inside.
Since being elected in 2023, I launched Harris County’s first Emerging Adult Docket, a program that gives young adults facing non-violent charges structure, support, and a real opportunity to turn their lives around. Outside of court, I teach at Thurgood Marshall School of Law and stay connected to my community through mentorship and service.
I believe justice should be thoughtful, accessible, and rooted in the dignity of every person who walks into the courtroom.
Judge Katherine Thomas brings fairness, integrity, and common sense to the bench — and she’s just getting started. Your support helps keep her fighting for a justice system that works for everyone, not just the privileged few. Chip in today to keep smart, compassionate leadership on the 184th Criminal District Court.
